The ITLOS-Nippon Foundation Capacity-Building and Training Programme on Dispute Settlement under UNCLOS is a nine-month training programme held at the seat of the Tribunal in Hamburg, Germany. The programme runs from July to March and is designed to provide junior to mid-level government officials and researchers with advanced legal training in international dispute settlement, specifically under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Participants attend lectures, workshops, and study visits to international organizations.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be between 25 and 40 years of age
Must possess a first university degree in law
Must be junior to mid-level government officials or researchers
Must be currently employed in the field of the law of the sea, international law, or related disciplines
Must be nominated by their government or institution
Must have a good command of English or French
