The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants in favor of foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad (IRE) for the academic year. The scholarships aim to foster international cooperation in cultural, scientific, and technological fields, promote Italian language and culture, and support Italy's economic system in the world. Grants are offered to complete study courses and research/training programs in public or legally recognized Italian educational institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a foreign citizen or an Italian citizen living abroad (IRE).
Academic qualifications: Must hold an appropriate academic qualification required to enroll in the chosen Italian institution.
Age limits: Master's Degree, AFAM Programs, and Italian Language courses applicants must be 28 years old or younger. PhD applicants must be 30 years old or younger. Research project applicants must be 40 years old or younger.
Language proficiency: B2 level in Italian for Italian-taught courses; B2 level in English for English-taught courses; A2 level in Italian for Italian language and culture courses.

Financial Benefits

Exemption from the payment of enrollment and tuition fees (depending on the specific university's policy).
Health and medical insurance contracted by MAECI for the entire duration of the grant, covering illnesses and accidents.
Monthly financial allowance of 900 Euros paid on a quarterly basis directly to the grantee's personal Italian bank account.
