Details

The Chinese Government Scholarship is established by the Ministry of Education of China (MOE) to sponsor international students, teachers, and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. It aims to promote mutual understanding, cooperation, and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries. The scholarship supports undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, as well as general and senior scholars through various sub-programs (Bilateral Program, Chinese University Program, etc.).

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically.
Undergraduate program applicants must be high school graduates and be under the age of 25.
Master's program applicants must be bachelor's degree holders and be under the age of 35.
Doctoral program applicants must be master's degree holders and be under the age of 40.
General scholar program applicants must be under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study when applying.
Senior scholar program applicants must be master's degree holders or an associate professor (or above) and be under the age of 50.
Must meet the admission requirements of the applied universities in terms of academic ability, language proficiency and other relevant criteria.

Financial Benefits

Tuition waiver: Tuition funds will be comprehensively used by the host university to cover education costs.
Accommodation: Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy.
Monthly stipend: Undergraduate students receive 2,500 CNY/month; Master's students and general scholars receive 3,000 CNY/month; Doctoral students and senior scholars receive 3,500 CNY/month.
Comprehensive medical insurance: 800 CNY per person per year (or 400 CNY for programs lasting less than six months).
