Details
The Academy Scholars Program identifies and supports outstanding scholars at the start of their academic careers whose work combines excellence in a social science discipline (including law and history) with a command of the language and history or culture of non-Western countries or regions. Their scholarship should show promise of originating fresh, creative, and intellectually rigorous work that will enrich their disciplines. The fellowship is a two-year in-residence appointment at The Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University.
Eligibility Criteria
•Open to recipients of a PhD or comparable terminal degree within four years of the application deadline
•Advanced doctoral candidates in the social sciences or law who are near completion of their dissertation
•Research must show a command of the language and history or culture of non-Western countries or regions
•Candidates must reside in the Cambridge/Boston area for the duration of the appointment
•Open to applicants of any nationality
Financial Benefits
•Postdoctoral Academy Scholars receive an annual stipend of $80,000
