Details
The Indigenous Fellowship Programme (IFP) is an intensive human rights training program established by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland. The fellowship aims to enhance the knowledge of indigenous individuals on international human rights standards and United Nations mechanisms dealing with indigenous issues, empowering them to advocate effectively for the rights of their communities.
Eligibility Criteria
•The candidate must belong to an indigenous community or organization.
•Candidates must be sponsored/nominated by an indigenous community or organization.
•Candidates must have a good working knowledge of one of the official languages of the fellowship (English, French, Spanish, or Russian).
•Candidates should have practical experience working on indigenous rights and human rights issues.
•Candidates must be committed to transferring the acquired knowledge to their communities and organizations upon completion of the fellowship.
Financial Benefits
