•Must hold an Australian Bachelor Honours degree with First Class (or equivalent international qualification), or a Master's degree with a substantial research component in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.

•Demonstrated strong background and programming skills in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or natural language processing (e.g., Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow).

•Must satisfy the University of New England's English language proficiency requirements (such as IELTS Academic with an overall score of at least 6.5 and no band below 6.0, or equivalent).

This PhD scholarship is offered by the University of New England (UNE) for research focused on machine learning modelling to analyse multi-modal medical and educational data, including imaging, video, and text-based reports. The successful candidate will investigate and develop novel deep learning architectures, multimodal representations, and automated analytical pipelines. Supervised by academics in the Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business and Law, the project aims to solve complex real-world data analysis challenges across healthcare informatics and educational analytics.

•Tax-free living stipend matching the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) rate (approx. AUD $35,000–$38,000 per annum, indexed annually) for up to 3.5 years.
