Eligibility
•Academic Degree: A completed university degree (equivalent to at least 240 ECTS or a 4-year undergraduate degree, or a 3-year bachelor's degree with 180 ECTS plus recognized additional experience) in medicine, public health, social sciences, or a related field
•Professional Experience: At least 1 to 2 years of relevant professional work experience in a health-related or public health field (DAAD EPOS applicants must have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience completed after graduating from their first degree)
•English Language Proficiency: Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL score of min. 95-100 iBT, IELTS Band 6.5 or 7.0, or equivalent internationally recognized certification)
•Motivation and Career Goals: A clear commitment to working in global and international health, demonstrated via a statement of purpose/motivation letter
•Specific DAAD EPOS Requirements: Applicants applying for DAAD funding must be nationals of and residing in an eligible DAC-list developing country

The Master of Science in International Health (MScIH) offered by the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health (HIGH) at Heidelberg University is an accredited postgraduate program designed for health professionals and researchers seeking leadership roles in global health. Accredited by the tropEd network for international health education, the program focuses on health systems strengthening, disease control, maternal and child health, health economics, and epidemiology in low- and middle-income settings.
The program offers both full-time (1 year) and part-time modular tracks. Applicants from eligible developing countries can apply for full scholarship funding through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) scheme.
