Details

The UN Women Internship Programme offers outstanding students the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to UN Women's work. It is designed to complement development-oriented studies with practical experience in various aspects of multilateral technical cooperation, but also complements other international studies. Internships are available at UN Women Headquarters in New York and at various regional and country offices globally. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for specific internship vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria

Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master's programme, or higher)
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor's degree or equivalent)
Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation
Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program
Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records
Be proficient in at least one of the working languages of the UN (English, French, or Spanish)

Financial Benefits

Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources (such as universities, governments, or other institutions) will receive a stipend from UN Women
The stipend is intended to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, such as meals and transportation at the duty station
The stipend amount varies depending on the duty station and is paid on a monthly basis
Interns are responsible for their own travel, visas, accommodation, and medical insurance costs
