RISE Germany is a summer internship program that places undergraduate students in research labs at German universities and research institutions. It is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). While primarily for North American students, it's a model for other international internship programs. Students from other regions may find similar DAAD-funded internships.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be undergraduate students in their second or third year of study in biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, or engineering. Applicants must be citizens of the USA, Canada, or the UK. Applicants must have a good command of English. While not explicitly stated for African students, the DAAD often has programs for international students, and this program is a good starting point to look for similar opportunities.
Financial Benefits
Monthly stipend to cover living expenses. Accommodation is usually arranged by the host institution, but not always fully covered.
