The Special Scholarship Program (SSP) was established by Kochi University of Technology (KUT) to support advanced research by admitting doctoral candidates from around the world. Selected students engage in designated research projects under KUT professors while pursuing their PhD degree over a 3-year period.
Eligibility Criteria
•Hold or expect to obtain a Master's degree or equivalent prior to enrollment at KUT
•Be 35 years of age or under at the time of enrollment
•Have an excellent academic record and strong research capabilities
•Possess high proficiency in English to conduct research and communicate effectively
•Intend to pursue a 3-year doctoral degree at KUT while working on a designated research project
Financial Benefits
•Exemption from 300,000 yen entrance examination fee, 300,000 yen enrollment fee, and 535,800 yen per year tuition fees
•Monthly living stipend of 150,000 yen for participating in specified research projects
•150,000 yen provided for travel expenses and initial living costs
