The University of Otago International Master's Research Scholarship provides financial assistance for international students undertaking a Master's degree involving a thesis component at the University of Otago. Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit and research capability to help outstanding international students pursue postgraduate research in New Zealand.
Eligibility Criteria
•Open to international students applying for or enrolled in a Master's degree by thesis
•Applicants must be undertaking a research thesis component worth at least 90-120 points
•Selection is primarily based on academic excellence and research potential (typically requiring an A
-average or higher in qualifying papers)
•Must meet all English language and general admission requirements for postgraduate study at the University of Otago
•Applicants must not have already completed a Master's thesis at Otago or another university
Financial Benefits
•NZ$18,200 stipend per annum
•Partial tuition fee waiver capped at the domestic tuition fee rate for up to 1 year (120 points of thesis research)
•International students pay the difference between domestic and international tuition fees
