Details
The United Nations Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS) capacity-building programmes, including the UN-Nippon Foundation Fellowships, provide advanced training and research opportunities in ocean affairs and the law of the sea for professionals from developing countries. Selected fellows participate in academic research at partner host institutions followed by a practicum placement at UN Headquarters in New York.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be between 25 and 40 years of age
•Must hold a first university degree or equivalent qualification
•Must be a national of a developing State
•Must be nominated by a government institution or relevant authority
•Must be a mid-level professional directly dealing with ocean affairs, law of the sea, marine science, or coastal management
•Must possess advanced proficiency in English
