The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who wish to study in graduate courses at Japanese universities as Research Students under the Japanese Government Scholarship Program.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan (including The Gambia).For Research Students (Masters/PhD): Must be under 35 years of age and have completed 16 years of school education.For Undergraduate Students: Must be between 17 and 25 years of age and have completed 12 years of school education.
Financial Benefits
100% tuition fee exemption.Monthly stipend of 143,000 JPY to 145,000 JPY (for research students) or 117,000 JPY (for undergraduate students).Round-trip airfare to Japan.Preparatory Japanese language education.
