The Gates Cambridge Scholarship programme was established in October 2000 by a donation from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to the University of Cambridge. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.
Eligibility Criteria
A citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom.Applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study at the University of Cambridge: PhD, MSc/MLitt, or a one-year postgraduate course (with some exceptions).Demonstrate outstanding intellectual ability, leadership potential, a commitment to improving the lives of others, and a good fit with the chosen course.
Financial Benefits
Fully funded, covering the full cost of studying at Cambridge, including university composition fees, maintenance allowance (stipend), airfare, and inbound visa costs. Discretionary funding is also available for academic development, fieldwork, and dependent children.
