The University of Alabama offers merit-based scholarship opportunities for out-of-state and international first-year undergraduate students based on academic excellence. Qualified students are automatically considered upon submission of their admission application by the priority deadline. Awards are renewable for up to four consecutive academic years (eight semesters), provided the student maintains full-time enrollment and the required cumulative GPA.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be an incoming out-of-state or international first-year (freshman) student applying to The University of Alabama
•Must meet minimum high school GPA requirements (3.00 or higher) and standardized test score requirements (ACT/SAT) or qualify via test-optional evaluation
•Must submit a complete UA undergraduate admissions application and official high school transcripts
•Must enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree program at The University of Alabama
Financial Benefits
•Presidential Scholar: Full tuition ($35,000+ per year) for 4 years (GPA 3.50+, ACT 32-36 / SAT 1420-1600)
•UA Scholar: Up to $28,000 per year for 4 years (GPA 3.50+, ACT 30-31 / SAT 1360-1410)
•Foundation in Excellence Scholar: Up to $15,000 per year for 4 years (GPA 3.50+, ACT 28-29 / SAT 1300-1350)
•Collegiate Scholar: Up to $10,000 per year for 4 years (GPA 3.50+, ACT 26-27 / SAT 1230-1290)
•Capstone Scholar: Up to $8,000 per year for 4 years (GPA 3.00-3.49 with qualifying test scores)
•Crimson Scholar: Up to $6,000 per year for 4 years
