Details

The Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) provides block grants to Higher Education Providers (HEPs) to support both domestic and international students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees. The program aims to provide flexible funding arrangements to support the training of the next generation of researchers and innovators.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be enrolled in or have an offer of admission to an accredited Higher Degree Research (HDR) course at the University of New England
Must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth designed to offset HDR fees
Must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship for living income support greater than 75% of the RTP Stipend rate
International applicants must meet international student visa requirements and English language proficiency requirements
Selection is primarily based on academic merit and research potential

Financial Benefits

Living Allowance Stipend: Approximately $34,000
-$35,000 AUD per annum (indexed annually)
Tuition Fees Offset: Covers full tuition fees for the duration of the degree (up to 3 years for PhD, 2 years for Masters)
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): Single membership coverage for international students
Allowances: May include relocation allowance and thesis printing allowance
