The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) recognizes full-time graduate students (Master's and PhD) who demonstrate academic excellence. Departmental units establish their own internal application deadlines and selection processes. Students must contact their department directly for specific application deadlines and submission procedures.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be registered as or admitted as a full-time Master's or PhD student at the University of Manitoba
•Must have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent, with competitive selection typically requiring a higher GPA, e.g., 3.75) in the last two years of study
•Must be recommended for the award by the candidate's home department/unit
•Must be enrolled in an eligible graduate program (excludes professional programs such as the MBA)
Financial Benefits
•Master's students: $14,000 per year for up to 24 months (total value $28,000)
•PhD students: $18,000 per year for up to 48 months (total value $72,000)
•Fellowships provide funding to support living expenses and graduate studies
