The Jefferson Scholars Foundation provides comprehensive enrichment programs designed to foster leadership, intellectual curiosity, and global engagement for Jefferson Scholars and Walentas Scholars at the University of Virginia. Through experiential learning opportunities, foreign travel, career development, and leadership workshops, scholars are empowered to make significant contributions to the University community and beyond. The enrichment calendar includes specialized programs across all four undergraduate years, such as the Institute on Leadership and Citizenship, travel grants, enterprise forums, and study at the University of Oxford.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be a recipient of the Jefferson Scholarship or Walentas Scholarship at the University of Virginia
•Must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time at the University of Virginia
•Selection for the underlying scholarship requires nomination by an eligible high school or through the regional/at-large competition process
•Candidates are evaluated on exceptional leadership, scholarship, and citizenship
