The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) provides academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people from Sub-Saharan Africa with access to quality university education. The scholarship covers full financial support alongside academic, personal, and career transition support to empower scholars to become leaders and changemakers in their communities.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be a citizen and permanent resident of a Sub-Saharan African country
•Must have completed a Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance
•Must demonstrate financial need and economically disadvantaged background
•Must show leadership potential and a commitment to returning to Africa to contribute to societal transformation
•Must apply for an eligible Master's degree program at the University of British Columbia (UBC)
•Must be admissible to UBC, including meeting English language proficiency requirements
•Must not already hold a graduate degree
