The WIPO Japan Office (WJO) announces the opening of applications for the 2026 Short-Term Fellowship Programme for International Students in Japan. Designed for eligible international students currently pursuing higher education in Japan, this fellowship offers hands-on practical experience, practical research opportunities, and operational participation in the activities of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Tokyo.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be an international student enrolled in a higher education institution in Japan (Master's, Ph.D., or upper-level university degree)
•Background or strong academic interest in Law, Intellectual Property (IP), Economics, International Relations, or related fields
•High level of English language proficiency (both written and spoken); Japanese language skills are beneficial
•Strong motivation to gain practical experience in intellectual property policy and international administration
•Capability to conduct research and work effectively in a diverse, multicultural team environment
